Unable to travel overseas, my husband David and I travelled to Cairns, for a few days.
We hired a car and visited lovely Palm Cove, where we were unable to swim, because
of stingers and crocodiles.
Later we visited Yungaburra, a lovely town situated on the
Atherton Tablelands and had lunch at a colonial style hotel.
We drove to Port Douglas, which we both find expensive and touristy.
On the whole, a relaxing trip away from home.
We miss travelling overseas and particularly Bali, which we consider as our former home.
Travel is expensive in Australia and hotels which are highly priced, offer no services, eg
room cleaning, someone on the desk, basically "do it yourself style." Perhaps they
should consider offering a price reduction during the Pandemic?
